Ieri sera a Los Angeles sono stati assegnati gli Screen Actor Guild Awards. Le nomination erano state annunciate lo scorso 14 dicembre. Ecco com’è andata.
Anche quest’anno il sindacato degli attori di Hollywood ha assegnato le sue statuette, premiando gli attori e le attrici migliori della stagione cinematografica e televisiva (ai SAG Awards, quindi, non esistono le categorie miglior film o miglior serie TV). La cerimonia di premiazione si è svolta a Los Angeles ieri sera e, tra una protesta anti-Trump e un’altra, ha assegnato sei premi cinematografici e nove televisivi e un premio alla carriera a Lily Tomlin (West Wing, Grace & Frankie). Per la categoria cinema, Fences porta a casa due statuette (miglior attore protagonista, Denzel Washington, e miglior attrice non protagonista, Viola Davis) mentre Hidden Figures ha sbaragliato la concorrenza di pellicole più accreditate come Moonlight e Manchester by the Sea aggiudicandosi il premio più importante, quello per il miglior cast in un film.
Più netta l’assegnazione dei premi nelle categorie televisive, con Netflix che trionfa e fa man bassa di premi portando a casa i due premi principali per miglior cast (Stranger Things e Orange is the New Black) e quello di miglior attore, John Lithgow e miglior attrice in un drama, Claire Foy. Nelle altre categorie riescono a farsi spazio tra gli altri Sarah Paulson, per American Crime Story e William H. Macy per Shameless.
